Dear ARPM Members:

As an industrial high school teacher, my students have a capstone project to manufacture 100 ping pong paddles for the school. Is there somebody in the ARPM network that has the expertise to provide me with a source for rolls of.5-1mm sponge and 1-1.5 mm pimpled rubber for the surfaces of the paddles?

Numerous web searches have only turned up pre-packaged/pre cut very expensive...we'd like to cut our own from bulk supply so we can illustrate batch manufacturing.

Could you/your association point us towards a resource?

Much appreciated!

Rob,

I believe you need to find a vulcanized sheet manufacturer or belt manufacturer.  Below are a few companies that may help or further point you in the right direction.
1. Sparks Belting: 800-451-4537
2. Chemprene: 845-831-2800
3. Thermodyn: 419-841-7782

Good Luck and Happy Easter.

Regan, thanks so much for positive response as it demonstrates to my students that there are people out there willing to provide information, time and resources.

Also, if any other MAPP members have some other resources that might help me mitigate the cost of materials, it would be helpful.

Very Sincerely,
