I need to find out what kind of a rubber would be very light and squishy, almost like a foam, that I could use to repair some shoes. The rubber can\'t absorb water otherwise it will leak water all over the floor. The original material was a foam of some type but it crumbles and disintegrates very quickly so I need to find something else for this area. The cavity to fill is roughly 4\" wide x maybe up to 1 1/2\" high. The foam that was originally put in there just provides a nice little protection and shock absorption, but again it\'s very flexible, soft foam.

What might I look at in rubber, or does anyone know of a suitable foam or other product to use?

Thanks,
